Approach to Rwy 35 is between rising terrain left and right. On short final, air is usually sinking from the swamp as crosswind makes it past the hills, then rising from the roadway just before the threshold. Your choices for approach are to stay higher than the hills to minimize buffeting and then dive for the runway or to follow a normal glide-path between the hills and expect buffeting.
